Distributed data loggers for CAN bus, RS485, Ethernet - especially in harsh environments
The New Meteorological Tower at Garching near Munich
Physikalische Messsysteme Ltd. has developed a system of programmable measured-data acquisition boards with extended temperature range and EMI protection.
These boards are installed into splash-proof metal boxes, which can be mounted very close to the sensors.
The modules are connected via CAN bus or, alternatively, via RS-422, RS-485 or Ethernet and controlled by a central PC.
Outdoor operation (the modules are exposed to the weather and the outside temperature)
Operating temperature range: -40°C…+85°C
Lightning and overvoltage protection
CAN bus (optionally LAN, USB)
Modular design with up to 1000 measuring channels
High accuracy
Synchronous measurement with time stamp
Sampling rate up to 0.1 Hz
Optional SD memory card within the module
Monitored sensor power supply and control outputs providing alarm triggering
Powerful PC software (continuous diagnosis, on-line display of the measured data, remote maintenance and calibration)
Analogue voltage measurement: 16-bit resolution, voltage range +/-1 mV…+/-10 V; temperature drift 5 ppm/°C
Temperature measurement: 16-bit resolution, Pt100 sensor, temperature range –50°C…+70°C (corresponding to 80…120 Ohms), temperature drift 2 ppm/°C
Pulse/frequency measurement: up to 10 kHz, 32-bit resolution
